On a tiled roof, two things must work together: a secure structural fixing for the solar installation and the connection within the roof covering. Our tile-and-hook set handles these as different tasks.

The mounting point with our replacement tile

  1. Make space. Temporarily remove a few tiles. Only the tile at the mounting point is permanently replaced.
  2. Fit the replacement. Insert it and shape its flexible areas to the profile as instructed.
  3. Secure the hook. Screw the hook into the timber structure. It is the structural connection for the mounting rail.
  4. Restore the covering. Replace the remaining tiles. The replacement closes the mounting point and the hook remains accessible for the rail.

This overview explains the order, not the complete working instructions. Fixings, application and possible additions depend on the situation and approved installation guide.

What this avoids, and what is still needed

The neighbouring tiles usually need no cutting or grinding. Some roof geometries may require adjustment to the upper tile. Suitability checks and secure fixing remain necessary in every case.

The illustrated installation stages show the actions. The full PDF installation guide governs execution. Rails, connectors and clamps are in our additional accessories.
