Butyl strips are adhesive sealing strips. On our replacement tile, they form part of the flexible connection areas. They are applied as the tile is shaped to the existing roof profile.
Fit first, then follow the installation sequence
The replacement must suit the installation situation. Our guide explains protective films, shaping and pressing into place as a connected sequence. Individual actions should not be taken out of that sequence.
The strips do not secure the solar installation to the roof. That is the job of the roof hook fixed into timber. Sealing and load transfer have different roles.
