For our replacement tile, “without grinding” means replacing the tile at the fixing point rather than grinding a recess for the hook. The surrounding tiles usually remain unaltered. This is not the same as installing without fixings or without any intervention in the roof.

The fixing is still necessary

Our hook is screwed into timber. Whether and how pre-drilling is needed depends on the installation requirements and fixing situation. A blanket “no drilling” claim for the entire PV installation would therefore be misleading.

What the replacement makes easier

At the mounting point, you remove one covering element and insert our adaptable tile. Its flexible parts are shaped to the existing profile. This usually avoids cutting a recess for the hook. It does not justify promising a fixed time saving on every roof.

Some roof geometries may still require adjustment to the upper tile. Dimensions, pitch and installation requirements must be observed. The installation guide gives the complete sequence; our installation overview shows the main steps.
